Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WhisperWall (also known as My Own Campus)("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and related services (the "Services"). WhisperWall is operated as an online service available at myowncampus.vercel.app and future official domains we announce. By using the Services, you agree to this policy, our Terms of Service, and our Refund Policy.
1. Scope
This policy applies to information we process through WhisperWall and My Own Campus. It does not cover third-party websites, apps, or sign-in providers you choose to use. Those services have their own privacy policies.
2. The Services
WhisperWall lets you use a ghost alias to post, chat privately, match with others on Connect, and access optional digital plans when available. We design the product around privacy and anonymity, but no online service can guarantee complete anonymity if you choose to reveal identifying information yourself.
3. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
- Account and profile data: alias, avatar, language, country or region preferences, and sign-in identifiers from providers you choose.
- Content you create: posts, comments, messages, media, voice notes, location shares, and activity related to Connect.
- Connect preferences: age band, gender, interests, and matching filters you set.
- Usage and safety data: reports, blocks, session metadata, and information needed to operate live features and prevent abuse.
- Purchase data: plan status, purchase history, payment amount and currency, and contact details you enter at checkout when paid features are offered.
- Device and log data: general device type, browser, approximate network information, and timestamps needed to secure the Services.
We do not require your legal name for basic use. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the information that provider shares according to your settings with that provider.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Match you with other users when you use Connect.
- Process purchases and restore plans across devices when paid features are available.
- Enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, and safety rules.
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations.
- Send service-related notices. Marketing messages, if any, will include opt-out options where required.
5. Safety review
To protect users, live voice and video interactions may be subject to safety review, including automated tools and human review in serious cases. Private chats are not published to public feeds. Review is used for abuse prevention, enforcement, and legal compliance, not for public display.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers who help us host, secure, process payments, or support the Services, under confidentiality obligations.
- With other users, only as you direct through posts, chats, or Connect sessions.
- When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required by law.
7. Public and shared information
Content you post publicly or share with another user may be seen, copied, or reshared by others. Think carefully before sharing personal details, even in private chat. We are not responsible for what other users do with information you choose to share.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect against abuse, and measure how the Services are used. Optional analytics (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity when enabled, and Vercel Web Analytics) load only after you consent in our cookie banner. We may send aggregated, non-identifying traits (for example country from your profile, age band, and language) never your real name or email. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.
9. Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. When you delete your account, we remove active profile, plan, chat, and Connect data from our systems, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.
10. International transfers
WhisperWall is used globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. By using the Services, you consent to this processing where permitted by law. We take steps designed to protect information in line with this policy.
11. Regional privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to processing and data portability. These rights may apply under laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, California CPRA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, among others.
To exercise rights, contact whisperwall.help@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights where prohibited by law.
California residents: we do not sell personal information as defined by the CPRA. You may contact us for questions about categories of data we collect and disclose.
12. Children's privacy
The Services are for users eighteen (18) and older only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and may terminate the account. If you believe a minor is using WhisperWall, contact whisperwall.help@gmail.com.
13. Government and emergency requests
We review law enforcement and government requests according to applicable law. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm, protect safety, or comply with legal obligations.
14. Your choices
You can update some profile settings in the app, restore purchases after sign-in when applicable, manage cookie preferences via our banner, and delete your account in Settings. For other requests, contact Support. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
15. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy, except where law requires otherwise.
